For example, they wrote, “Will someone show long-term habituation to consecutive meals of cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza and mushroom pizza?”

Similar to the way that drug addicts develop a need to increase their dose to feel the same effects, studies have shown that we become habituated to the foods that we eat often, said McGuire.

However, it was not known whether this would lead to an actual decrease in the calories we eat, nor was it known how often we have to eat the same thing to become habituated to it.

The Weight of Exercise

Everyone should exercise, yet the health experts tells us that only 30% of the United States population gets the recommended thirty minutes of daily physical activity, and 25% are not active at all. In fact, inactivity is thought to be one of the key reasons for the surge of type 2 diabetes in the U.S., because inactivity and obesity promote insulin resistance.

The good news is that it is never too late to get moving, and exercise is one of the easiest ways to start controlling your diabetes. For people with type 2 diabetes in particular, exercise can improve insulin sensitivity, lower the risk of heart disease, and promote weight loss.

Type 2 Diabetes

Diabetes is on the rise. The number of people diagnosed with diabetes every year increased by 48% between 1980 and 1994. Nearly all the new cases are Type 2 Diabetes, or adult-onset, the kind that moves in around middle age. Symptoms of Type 2 Diabetes include increased thirst, appetite, and need to urinate; feeling tired, edgy, or sick to the stomach; blurred vision; tingling or loss of feeling in the hands.

The causes of type 2 diabetes are complex and not completely understood, although research is uncovering new clues at a rapid pace.

However, it has already been proven that one of the reasons for the boom in type 2 diabetes is the widening of waistbands and the trend toward a more deskbound and inactive lifestyle in the United States and other developed countries. In America, the shift has been striking; in the 1990s alone, obesity increased by 61% and diagnosed diabetes by 49%.

For this reason, health experts encourage those who already have type 2 diabetes to start employing the wonders that exercise can do for them. Without exercise, people have the tendency to become obese. Once they are obese, they have bigger chances of accumulating type 2 diabetes.

Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports that over 80% of people with type 2 diabetes are clinically overweight. Therefore, it is high time that people, whether inflicted with type 2 diabetes or not, should start doing those jumping and stretching activities.

Getting Started

The first order of business with any exercise plan, especially if you are a “dyed-in-the-wool” sluggish, is to consult with your health care provider. If you have cardiac risk factors, the health care provider may want to perform a stress test to establish a safe level of exercise for you.

Certain diabetic complications will also dictate what type of exercise program you can take on. Activities like weightlifting, jogging, or high-impact aerobics can possibly pose a risk for people with diabetic retinopathy due to the risk for further blood vessel damage and possible retinal detachment.

If you are already active in sports or work out regularly, it will still benefit you to discuss your regular routine with your doctor. If you are taking insulin, you may need to take special precautions to prevent hypoglycemia during your workout.

Start Slow

For those who have type 2 diabetes, your exercise routine can be as simple as a brisk nightly neighborhood walk. If you have not been very active before now, start slowly and work your way up. Walk the dog or get out in the yard and rake. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park in the back of the lot and walk. Every little bit does work, in fact, it really helps a lot.

As little as 15 to 30 minutes of daily, heart-pumping exercise can make a big difference in your blood glucose control and your risk of developing diabetic complications. One of the easiest and least expensive ways of getting moving is to start a walking program. All you need is a good pair of well-fitting, supportive shoes and a direction to head in.

Indeed, you do not have to waste too many expenses on costly “health club memberships,” or the most up-to-date health device to start pumping those fats out. What you need is the willingness and the determination to start exercising to a healthier, type 2 diabetes-free life.

The results would be the sweetest rewards from the effort that you have exerted.

Britain's obesity death rate

JAMES CHAPMAN, Daily Mail

More people are dying in Britain due to being overweight or obese than anywhere else in Europe, a study revealed yesterday.
Around one in every 11 deaths in the UK is now linked to carrying excess fat - 50 per cent more than the rate in France.
Experts also warned that the number of fatalities due to obesity may soon, for the first time, exceed those caused by smoking.
Being overweight or obese leaves people at high risk of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and osteoarthritis. It also makes them much more likely to develop several types of cancer.
The growing health disaster is being blamed on the rise of aggressively marketed, fatladen fast food and couchpotato lifestyles.
Around half of British adults are overweight, and 17 per cent of men and 21 per cent of women are obese.
The difference between being overweight and obese lies in a person's Body Mass Index, which is calculated from weight and height. An adult with a BMI of more than 25 is classed as overweight and one with a BMI of more than 30 is obese.
Britain is the 'fat capital' of Europe, according to researchers from the University of Madrid's School of Medicine whose study is published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
The lowest death rate from being obese and overweight was in France, but the researchers said it was clear that Europe as a whole has a problem.
The study found that up to 400,000 deaths each year in the EU are directly linked to excess weight.
Of all the deaths in the UK that were linked to excess weight, about 66 per cent were down to obesity, and 33 per cent to being overweight.
In around 70 per cent of overweight-linked cases, the final cause of death was heart disease and in 20 per cent, it was cancer. Overall, around 12 per cent of heart disease deaths in Britain were due to being overweight, and 5.7 per cent of total deaths from cancer were also directly caused by being overweight or obese.
Dr Jose Banegas, who led the research, said excess weight is a major public health problem.
'One in two in the EU is obese or overweight,' he added. 'Excess weight may well come to replace smoking as the major killer of adults in the near future.
'Most countries have not yet made any systematic effort to raise public awareness as to the dangers of obesity.'
As well as being worst for fat-related deaths, the UK tops the smoking mortality league, with 21 per cent of all deaths linked to tobacco.
Obesity costs £2.6billion a year in NHS bills and indirect losses to the economy. Other studies have shown that the percentage of overweight children in Britain has virtually doubled in the last decade.
Dr Andrew Hill, of Leeds University, said the rate of adult obesity in Britain is rising by one per cent of the population a year.
Doctors say that being obese when you are 40 knocks up to seven years off your life. Obese people who smoke will die more than 13 years before their time.
Doctors are unsure why France should come out with the lowest rate of deaths due to excess weight. The French do not eat less saturated fat than the British and have similar cholesterol levels.
It has been suggested that they are protected from heart attacks by drinking alcohol, particularly red wine.
Fat families are to be prescribed a visit to their local Sainsbury's by GPs, where they will be taken by the hand and shown healthy foods.
The supermarket has struck

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-171497/Britains-obesity-death-rate.html#ixzz1ZzxygFi3

Green tea may aid in weight loss

Go green (tea) and lose weight. The ECGC group also had a 30 percent increase in fecal lipids, which hinted that ECGC was hindering fat absorption.

Mice used in the study were already obese, which makes the finding even more notable in relation to humans because people most often make dietary changes only when problems associated with obesity are noticeable.

While the green tea did not have an effect on appetite, the findings, published in the October online issue of the journal Obesity, suggests that drinking green tea may slow down weight gain.

Weight Loss Problem: No Problem

Losing weight can seem to be very tough to many people. But it is not that difficult, all you need to do is watch what you eat and burn more energy then you consume.

Market Press Release – September 27, 2011 4:36 am –

What’s the prime problem of every country in 21st century? The increasing population? Nopes! How to become a billionaire? Nah! Terrorism destroying people’s lives? Of course not! Then? Give up? It is “The Weight Loss”! From teenagers to parents, even grandparents, everyone is worried and willing to have at least some weight loss. This is because weight loss doesn’t only make you look good and young but it also makes you healthier!

Losing weight can seem to be very tough to many people. But it is not that difficult, all you need to do is watch what you eat and burn more energy then you consume, That’s it! When it comes to finding quick weight loss tips that work, selecting your foods for your diet can be a real balancing act. Try to eat foods that fill you up with far fewer calories like fruits, veggies, pulses and nuts don’t forget to eat some freshly prepared meals too. One very important thing: Never make a BANNED FOOD LIST. Because when you put some food in the banned list, you happen to develop cravings for those foods, which is a human tendency. Therefore, if you want to stop developing cravings for particular food items, you should daily treat yourself with those foods items (e.g. chocolates, cakes, etc.) but in very less quantity of course!

In connection with healthy eating, regular exercising is also very essential. Healthy eating and Exercise, they both work together in the process of healthy weight loss. Exercise doesn’t mean going to the gym and running on treadmills for hours. Just be active and do the things you enjoy such as dancing, walking, and playing outdoors etc. Take things slow and pick things you love. Many people complain of their habit of munching on snacks or fast foods when they don't have anything else to do. So, you need to get active and make yourself busy in some physical activities.
Besides these obvious two, it is also important to make sure you get plenty of sleep so that you can feel your best. If you are tired you are more likely to search out comfort and this could be in food.

Another important thing is the intake of water. You must understand the importance of water in keeping you slim and trim and hence you must drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. But don't go for the flavored or frizzy water because they contain some hidden calories, which could be detrimental for your health.
So, you see it’s not that difficult as it seems. You just have to watch what you are eating. And it’s not like you will be on a diet because if you’re calling this a “diet,” then you’re going to gain all the weight back (and more) within a few months of losing it. Diets do not work. Diets are temporary. When you change your dietary lifestyle, however, you’re changing your habits – and you’re putting yourself on track for long-term / continued success and weight maintenance. Don’t ever tell anybody you’re on a diet – EVER!

My friends the process of weight loss is like driving towards desired journey/goal so keep it SLOW and SAFE.

Leena Babuta is providing information on Diet pills, diet pills from mexico and other weight loss medications. For more visit: http://www.newdietpills.net

Diet Doc Creates New hCG Weight Loss for Heart Patients Diet

Diet Doc hCG Diet creates a new weight loss program for heart patients. Cardiovascular patients are typically mandated by their doctors to lose weight or eat a certain way. The diet options are many. Diet Doc created a unique cardiovascular diet that is further personalized for every individual, reports Julie Wright, president of Diet Doc.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 22, 2011
Diet Doc hCG Diet developed a new doctor-supervised hCG weight loss for heart patients diet. Cardiovascular patients needing to lose weight are offered a unique, heart-healthy diet which is monitored by their weight loss Diet Doc Doctor.
Elevated visceral fat (abdominal fat, belly fat) has long been associated with high triglyceride levels, high blood insulin levels, increased LDL (bad cholesterol) and low levels of the good heart protective HDL cholesterol.
These measurable changes are coincidentally the same set of risk factors for heart disease. In 2007, the American Heart Association released a study in their Hypertension journal showing how increased blood insulin levels are associated with hardening of the arteries which can lead to heart attacks.

“It’s important to remember that the body makes triglycerides from sugar not fat and that preventing insulin from spiking will dramatically slow down this conversion,” says Dr. Rao, Medical Director for Diet Doc. Using the HCG diet for weight loss can dramatically improve insulin and triglyceride levels, along with favorable changes to cholesterol because of the careful monitoring of carbohydrates. Using HCG for weight loss targets the visceral or abdominal fat, and so, can help heart patients dramatically reduce their risk factors.

Diet Doc HCG weight loss programs carefully monitor the metabolic level of ketosis to ensure a range optimal for insulin reduction without inducing heavy protein loss. Ketogenic diets have been shown to modify the risk factors of heart disease in obese patients .
A BMI at or higher than 27.3 for women and 27.8 for men is associated with an increased rate of blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. You can calculate your BMI using DietDoc’s free online calculator at http://www.hcgtreatments.com/calculate-your-bmi/. Another way to calculate the risks associated with abdominal weight and heart disease is the waist to hip ratio. To find this divide your waist measurement at its narrowest point by your hip measurement at it widest point. The Harvard Women’s Health Watch states risk factors for heart disease and stroke start at a ratio of 0.8.

“At Diet Doc, we see many clients with metabolic syndrome, whose blood panels show the red flags associated with heart disease from high insulin, hyperlipidemia and hypertension. By reducing visceral fat and attaining a healthy weight these clients are able to reverse many of the risk factors associated with heart disease,” says Dr. Rao. “Without addressing abdominal fat, cardiac patients face an uphill battle because of the impact of this type of fat on heart disease.”

Modifying the HCG weight loss program for heart patients is crucial because of potential mineral imbalances which can cause electrolyte imbalances. Diet Doc does not support the 500 calorie version of the HCG diet because of the increased risk of these nutrient deficiencies and has formulated a protein shake with chromium and selenium to further control blood insulin levels and carbohydrate cravings along with providing an increased level of nutrition to the program.

The Mindset of Obesity

Oh! It seems that onceyou become obese you think “It’s not my fault, it is in the genes and nothing Ido is going to make any difference. I may as well live with it”

Wrong!, thatis the mindset talking. Don’t listen to it, make a firm resolution to trysomething, you have to break out of the spell and give yourself a bit of peace.

The biggestproblem for obese people is the weight that they are carrying around; anymovement they make is an effort, which is far in excess of that which a normalweight person has to contend with. This knocks obese people’s thoughts againstany change, because it is too much effort. They just give up.

Obesity is vicious;it creeps up on you day by day, laying down layers of fat around the hips, onthe tummy and around the heart. Clogging and slowing everything down, even thethought processes are not immune.

You areprobably between 30 to 40 years old and nothing to look forward to. However, many more people will know her from her appearances in Emmerdale as art teacher Hazel Rhodes where the character was involved in a controversial assisted-suicide story, after offering to help wheelchair-bound Jackson to die. She left the show to take Birds of a Feather to the stage with co stars Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph. And in between she found time to lose 7 stone!
Pauline Quirke told the Daily Mail that she decided to lose weight after having to buy a new pair of scales at Argos thinking hers faulty after having weighed herself at nearly 20 stone. She said “‘I’d watched a programme about sumo wrestlers a few days before which said one of them tipped the scales at 20 ½ stone. I thought, “That’s a lot of weight.” ‘Then, the following week, I got on the scales and they said, 19st 6lb. I thought, “That can’t be right,” so got off, got on, got off again, twiddled the knob. It was definitely 19st 6lb.’”
She wanted to lose the weight for her health. Just a few years earlier she had to have a hip replacement because of her weight. She does stress that she was happy when she was nearly 20 stone and she is happy now. “‘I wasn’t miserable being that size,’ she insists. ‘It’s important for people to realise that if your life is pants it’s going to be pants when you’re a size 14. Losing weight won’t make all the rubbish going on in your life disappear. But it can help you be healthier.”
Pauline Quirke is now a size 14 but still wants to lose a stone more. Is losing weight this quickly, for Pauline in a 6 month period, healthy and sustainable? To lose the weight she went on the LighterLife plan, a fad diet with more than 150,000 followers. The diet claims to help obese and serial dieters shed huge amounts of weight in record time. LighterLife is a very low-calorie diet where normal food is banned and replaced with food packs such as fortified drinks, soups, desserts and bars which provide 530 calories daily. This crash diet is effective for helping weight loss but as with all crash diets two-thirds of dieters eventually put on more than they lost. Obesity takes up between 2 to 6 percent of healthcare costs in many countries.

In the weight loss study, which was funded by Weight Watchers International but run as an investigator-led trial with all data collection and analysis conducted by the independent research team, researchers assessed 772 overweight and obese adults in Australia, Germany and Britain.

Patients were randomly assigned to receive either 12 months of standard care as usually offered by the primary care team, or referred to and given a 12-month free membership for a Weight Watchers group in their neighborhood.

As well as losing twice as much weight as those in the standard care group, patients referred to Weight Watchers were also more than three times as likely to lose 10 percent or more of their initial body weight. Some 61 percent of patients in the Weight Watchers group lost at least 5 percent of their body weight, compared with 32 percent in the standard care group.

The average weight loss at 12 months was 5.1 kg for those using Weight Watchers versus 2.2 kg for those on standard care. For those who completed the full 12 months, average weight loss was 6.7 kg on Weight Watchers versus 3.3 kg on standard care.

In a commentary on the study, Kate Jolly and Paul Aveyard of the school of health and population sciences at Britain's Birmingham University said cost-effectiveness was a key factor in determining whether commercial programs like Weight Watchers become part of publicly funded health care.

They added that "the low cost of these programs -- at present about 50-60 for 12 weeks -- makes the case for incorporation intuitively appealing."

David Kirchhoff, CEO of Weight Watchers International said the Lancet study "proves that Weight Watchers is part of the solution to help transform the health of nations."

"There is a clear need for practical treatment solutions that are proven effective, affordable and scalable to have a population-wide impact," he said in a statement.

Gervais talks about weight loss

Sunday 4 September 2011

In an interview with The People, the Cemetery Junction comedian spoke about his decision to slim down, reportedly losing 22lb in just one year: "I've never had a problem with weight.

"I was thin until I was about 29. Then I hit 30 and there was a decade of eating and drinking.

"I thought, 'Oh my God, I'm going to die' so I decided to do something about it. Losing the weight wasn't a problem. You never get any excercise nowadays do you? Could it be your weight is getting

you down?

Just a few facts for you to ponder upon.
According to Professor Klim McPherson from Oxford University, obesity levels in the UK are set to rise by more than 70% in the

next 20 years if past trends continue. This would add 11 million people to the present 15 million, which means that in another 20

years there will be 26 million obese people.
This would put an enormous pressure on the health services.

You could reduce that number by one if you just take stock of your life, IF you made a small change in your diet, it would have

an effect on your weight quite quickly. You can still have some crisps and beer, it's just you have to make changes in what you

eat.
Try eating more fish, fruit and salads and soon you will notice the difference, you won't be so out of breath and you will start to

feel a lot better.
Ease off the bread and eclairs, cut down on sugary food intake. Try to plan out your own simple diet. There is masses of free

help in setting up a diet.

Don't worry about any excercises, those will come later when you feel up to it. Though, you could do arm excercises in your

armchair, like I say, slow but sure, thats the way.
Going on "Fad Crash Diets" is not the way, so forget about them. Losing weight too quickly can be dangerous, the easy simple,

no pressure way works best.

Don't lose heart and give up after a week, just perservere, the weight will slowly come off and you will have a tremendous felling

that you did it all by yourself.

My motto is "Don't Lose Heart, Lose Weight."

Being overweight at 40 can shorten your life

by JAMES CHAPMAN, Daily Mail

Being obese when you are 40 knocks up to seven years off your life, research reveals.
For obese people who smoke, the prognosis is even worse - they will die 13 and-a-half years before their time.
The warning comes from researchers who studied the health and lifestyles of 3,500 men and women over more than half a century.
They concluded that being obese or overweight in adulthood decreases life expectancy as much as smoking.
Just being overweight at the age of 40 knocks more than three years off your life, they found.
Their report, published today in the Annals of Internal Medicine, suggests that the number of premature deaths caused by weight problems threatens to cancel out the progress made by fighting heart disease and cancer.
Dr Anna Peeters, of the Netherlands Morbidity Research Group, who led the study, said: 'We concluded that obesity in adulthood is associated with a decrease in life expectancy of about seven years, both in men and women.
'The magnitude of this loss is similar to that associated with smoking. The smoking epidemic in the Western world is waning.
'However, a new fear should be the increasing prevalence of overweight and obesity in young adults, which heralds another potentially preventable public health disaster.
'This time, we must pay attention earlier and firmly establish research for more effective prevention and treatment as top priorities in public health.'
The experts studied the 3,500 people who took part in the Framingham Heart Study in Massachusetts.
More than 50 years ago, they were asked about their health and lifestyles and measurements were taken of their blood pressure and weight.
They have been tracked ever since, over which time many have died.
The latest research is the first time experts have calculated the number of years excessive weight knocks off people's lives.
'We found that (overweight and obesity in adulthood) are associated with large decreases in life expectancy and increases in early mortality,' the report's authors said.
'Obesity by 40 years of age is associated with significant shortening of life expectancy.'
Health professionals decide if someone is obese or overweight by calculating their Body Mass Index from their weight and height.
An adult with a BMI of more than 25 is classed as overweight and someone with a BMI of more than 30 is obese.
The threat of obesity is an increasing problem in the UK, with 46 per cent of men and 32 per cent of women now classed as overweight.
Around one in five adults - 17 per cent of men and 21 per cent of women - is obese.
In the last decade, the percentage of overweight children, meanwhile, has virtually doubled.
One in ten children starting primary school in Britain is now regarded as alarmingly overweight, increasing to 15 per cent of school leavers.
The condition leaves people at risk of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and osteoarthritis.
Recent studies have shown obesity is leading to more than 30,000 premature deaths annually in Britain from illnesses caused or worsened by being overweight.
Professor Julian Peto, of the Institute of Cancer Research in Surrey, warns that as many as one in ten deaths in non-smokers could be caused by being overweight.
Studies have shown that the ten per cent of women who are heaviest are 20 per cent more likely to suffer breast cancer than the ten per cent at the other end of the weight scale.
Some experts even fear that parents could soon begin to outlive their children because of the epidemic of obesity afflicting the younger generation.
Youngsters who are grossly overweight face premature death caused by a heart attack or stroke.
The impending health disaster is blamed on the rise of aggressivelymarketed, fat-laden fast food and couch potato lifestyles.

Experimental obesity drug beats placebo again

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #666666; Arena's new drug application to the FDA is still considered "open" while the company gathers data to answer the agency's remaining questions about lorcaserin.

Drugmakers have struggled for years to develop weight-loss drugs that are both effective and safe.

Like fen-phen before it, another diet drug -- Meridia -- was pulled from the U.S. market last year after being linked to heart problems in some users.

And lorcaserin is one of three experimental obesity drugs rejected by the FDA in the past year over safety concerns. The other two are Orexigen Therapeutics' Contrave, which combines the antidepressant bupropion with naltrexone, a drug used to fight alcohol and drug addiction; and Vivus Inc's Qnexa, a combination of the appetite suppressant phentermine and the anti-seizure drug topiramate.

The FDA wanted more data on the two drugs' potential heart risks.

Lorcaserin is believed to work by targeting a brain receptor for the chemical serotonin that is associated with hunger.

In a study published last year in the New England Journal of Medicine, researchers at Arena found that of 1,600 obese adults given lorcaserin for a year, 47.5 percent lost at least five percent of their body weight. Of that group, 68 percent kept the weight off for a second year.

That beat the placebo group, in which 20 percent shed that much weight after a year. (Both groups made lifestyle changes along with taking pills.)

In this latest study, the researchers tested two different doses of lorcaserin -- a once-daily 10-milligram dose, in addition to the twice-daily dose used in the earlier studies.

Both were effective, the researchers found. Of patients on the lower daily dose, 40 percent lost at least five percent of their body weight. In the higher-dose group, 47 percent dropped that much weight.

A five-percent weight loss is modest -- equivalent to taking 10 pounds off a 200-pound frame, for instance. But studies show that shedding even that amount can have "beneficial effects" on obesity-related health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, noted Arena's vice-president for lorcaserin development Dr. Christen M. Anderson, who worked on the study.

The current findings also strengthen evidence that lorcaserin does not carry the heart-valve risks of some older weight-loss drugs, Anderson told Reuters Health in an email.

Two percent of patients on twice-daily lorcaserin developed heart-valve problems. The percentage was the same in the placebo group.

The most common side effects of the drug were headache, nausea and dizziness.

For now, the drug options are few for obese people who fail to lose weight through diet changes and exercise alone.

The only one approved for long-term use is orlistat (Xenical), which is also available as a lower-dose, over-the-counter version called Alli. But Xenical has its issues as well, including side effects of gas, uncontrolled bowel movements and cases of serious liver problems.

SOURCE: bit.ly/rhEft8 Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, online July 27, 2011.

A new study to encourage weight loss and prevent diabetes

A new study underway at Monash University is investigating whether Metformin, a drug used to treat diabetes, might be used for weight loss and preventing diabetes in middle-aged women.
Professor Susan Davis
The purpose of the research project is to assess the effects of Metformin on women who have put on weight around their abdominal region but still have normal blood sugar levels.
Professor Susan Davis, Director of the Women’s Health Group at Monash University and principal researcher on the project said the study will look at the effects on insulin sensitivity, weight loss, cholesterol and other measures related to the potential risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

“As women age, they have a tendency to put on weight, particularly around their abdominal region.
“Abdominal fat is different to fat in the buttocks and thighs and increased abdominal fat in women is associated with increased risk for the development of high blood pressure and diabetes. The loss of oestrogen at menopause enhances this central weight gain,” said Professor Davis.

The study will include 120 women, half of whom will be taking the active medicine, Metformin. The other half will take a placebo pill.

Unlike other drugs used to treat diabetes, Metformin does not cause low blood sugar and therefore it is very safe to use.

“Metformin is an incredibly safe drug to use. It has been around for 30 years and has a great safety profile. It’s safe and if we can show it is effective through this study it will really make a difference,” said Professor Davis.

“We are particularly interested in women in this research. When women hit midlife they experience a change in hormones. On average, women will increase their abdominal fat by about 20-40 per cent. Therefore, women at this age are a particular target for when we want to reverse fat accumulation.

“This is an interesting drug as it is now being looked at as a potential prevention and treatment for breast cancer and we are planning a new study on its impact on uterine cancer and it is also being looked at in other forms of cancers,” said Professor Davis.

This research is supported by the Bupa Health Foundation.
To enquire about this study email womens.health@monash.edu
To find out more about the Women’s Health Group at Monash University visit http://womenshealth.med.monash.edu.au/

How To Get The Most From Weight Loss Exercise

No one ever seems to have trouble putting on weight. It can pile on faster than you even realize and before you know it you have gained ten pounds. To kick start weight loss and tone up into shape, you need to do regular exercise. This is something that is not news to anyone, but motivating yourself to actually do it can be tough.

Let's face it, how many people really find running 10 km on a treadmill thrilling? A few maybe, but the majority no. So why do it? You need to get active, sure, but why not choose activities that you really enjoy? The best weight loss exercises are the activities that you really love doing.

When you have thought of at least one activity that you really like to do, you should try to do it at least three times a week. More if you can. It is even better if you can come up with a couple of different things that you like to do to mix up your workout. Trying different activities will keep yo interested as well as working different muscle groups, than doing the same exercise each time does.

If you are a gregarious person, then you should try to get other people to exercise with you. This is a great technique for a number of reasons: one, you will have more fun if you do it with someone; two, you will be more motivated and three, it is harder to get home from work a bit tired and just sit on the couch if you have made an exercise date.

If you like to get out in the fresh air and out doors, then that is the type of exercise that you should choose. Try hiking, swimming, walking along the beach, horse riding or any other outdoorsy sport that happens to grab your attention. Being out in the sunshine also has the added benefit of increasing your vitamin D levels.

If you have some kids, then you should endeavor to get to the park with them a couple of times a week and play on the skateboards, scooter or chase each other around playing tag. This is great physical exercise for you, but it is also the chance to spend some quality time with your family and bond with each other. It also sets a healthy example to your children.

If you plan to do activities that you really enjoy, then the weight will fall off without you even knowing it - you will be too busy enjoying yourself. There is no reason to get stuck doing abdominal crunches ad nauseum if you really hate them. You can be the master of your own fitness plan.

As well as the obvious physical benefit of doing these activities, by doing fun things you will also get emotional benefits. You will have lower stress levels and be generally more fufilled. If you exercise with others, you will also feel more connected to the people around you.

Gordon Youd.

How To Enjoy Your Weight Loss Exercise

It is so easy to put on weight, before you know it you could have piled on a few extra pounds and wonder how it got there. Most of us could do with losing a couple of pounds to look better and feel healthier, but it can be hard to motivate yourself to get started on a weight loss program. It can be hard to get yourself excited about eating carrots and spending hours running on a treadmill.

The truth is that the best exercise program is not about cutting back on all the foods that you like and enjoy. It is not about doing endless squats and getting up at 5am to go for a 5 mile jog. The best weight loss and exercise program involves you doing something active that you really enjoy.

The secret to getting the body that you want is to find an activity that you love and then to do it at least three times a week. It is even better if you can find a variety of exercises that you really enjoy to keep the exercise routine varied as well as working different muscles through the different activities.

You can add to the interest levels if you are the social type by doing some kind of exercise with your friends. Finding a friend or friends to exercise with is great because it makes the workout session more fun as well as making you more committed. If you have made an arrangement to exercise with someone, then you are less likely to cancel it. With your friends you may be able to get a team together to either enter a league in your area or to play casual games. Volleyball, basketball, football, baseball, softball and so on are all fun team sports that you can enjoy together.

If you are an outdoors type of person, then you should do some exercise that involves getting out into the fresh air - hiking, trail riding, horse riding, jogging, walking along the beach and so on are great exercise and you will also boost your vitamin D levels too.

If you have children, then take the opportunity to take them down to the park and do some running around with them. Kids are energy powerhouses and spending half an hour at the park playing tag, jump rope or other games is a fabulous way to both burn off the fat as well as spending quality time bonding with your children.

By doing activities that you really have fun with you will get far, far better results than you would see from forcing yourself to do things that you loathe. You are much more likely to stick with your exercise routine as well as doing it for longer.

Besides the physical benefits of doing exercise that you like, you will also have better emotional health. You will be less stressed and more connected to the people around you at the same time as executing your weight loss plan - now doesn't that sound better than slogging it out on a bench press?

Weight Loss Training

Not ANOTHER One, I'm Going to Be Sick!

WOW! Response is Sky-High!

Thank you everyone for your interest in the Turbulence Training
program!

Yesterday I sent out an email that featured a few of the many
testimonials from folks who've used the revolutionary program to
lose fat, gain muscle and feel great.

Many of you checked out the site and ordered, thank you!

Weight Loss Training

One woman apparently has given up. She wrote to say that she
never wants to see another exercise program again...

...and I can't really blame her!

All of our lives we've been inundated with one new weight loss
technique after another, so after awhile we tend to think they're
all the same.

I know that's what I thought...

...until I found Turbulence Training.

Science now knows more than EVER about how to LOSE fat and gain
muscle, and how to do it the most efficient way (read - easiest
way) possible.

That's what the Turbulence Training program is all about...

...using science to get us looking great and FEELING great in as
little time as possible.

I know I'm sold, and many folks on my list agree. To say that
orders were coming in fast and furious is an understatement.

Thank you!!!

Some people had questions, so here they are, along with the
answers...

Q. "What equipment do I need for Turbulence Training?"

A. Dumbbells, a bench, and a Stability Ball. You can substitute a
barbell for many exercises in place of dumbbells.

You do not need expensive machines or a gym membership.

And you will also receive a bonus 4-week bodyweight training
manual that gives you an advanced fat burning, muscle-building
BODYWEIGHT-ONLY workout when you order.

No equipment what-so-ever is needed for that one.

Q. "Can women use Turbulence Training? I don’t want to bulk up."

A. Absolutely, many women have had great success with the
program. And unless you are over-eating, it's hard for women to
gain muscle.

Use the nutrition guidelines, along with the interval training to
burn fat, and you won't bulk up when you do the strength
training.

Q. "High reps with low weight are the key to fat loss, right?"

A. No. That's what they thought back in the 80's, but we've since
learned differently. Higher weight, fewer reps burn more fat. See
the program for details.

Bottom line, we know a lot more now than we used to about burning
fat and building muscle, and all of these latest finding are
incorporated into the Turbulence Training program.

Q. "Why are there different workouts with Turbulence Training?"

A. Because variety is necessary to continue losing fat. If you
stay on the same training program too long, you'll actually halt
fat loss. Variety is one of the keys to success.

Q. "How much fat can I lose with Turbulence Training?"

A. A lot. You should be able to lose at least one pound of body
fat each week, while gaining or maintaining muscle.

http://ploddykins.turbulence.hop.clickbank.net

Look, maybe you've resigned yourself to being overweight, like
the lady I mentioned above.

But have you really resigned yourself to feeling tired and worn
out all the time?

I haven't.

I know that I never feel better or think more clearly than when
I'm in shape.

I also hate spending hours upon hours exercising... ugghh.

But 45 minutes a day, 3 or 4 days per week?

Now THAT I can do!

How about you??

Weight Loss Training

P.S.
